Pickle+ ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
1. Information We Collect
When you register and use Pickle+ we may collect:
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash).
- Profile information — optional details such as location, skill rating (DUPR), and a profile avatar.
- Usage data — game results, event participation, badges, and activity feed entries you create within the app.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and diagnostic logs for security and performance purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the Pickle+ service.
- Display your profile and stats to other registered players (name and rating only — your email is never shown to other users).
- Send transactional emails such as event confirmations and password resets.
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing of Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — third-party platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure for hosting, SendGrid for email) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights or safety of users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see section 8). Aggregated, anonymised statistics may be retained indefinitely.
Guest DUPR analysis: with your permission, we process your DUPR sign-in details to import your profile and up to 1,000 recent matches. Passwords and completed sign-in access tokens are not stored or logged. Email verification challenges are encrypted and expire after 10 minutes. Reports are encrypted on the server, private to your browser and unavailable after 24 hours; expired records are removed by a cleanup job every five minutes while the service is running. You can delete your temporary report sooner. Server backups may retain encrypted records until those backups expire.
Creating or signing in to a Pickle+ account does not automatically save a guest report. You must explicitly choose to save it. Saved match history follows account retention and plan limits. Guest imports do not create public player profiles or shared player-directory records from partner or opponent details. Club names and DUPR club identifiers may be kept separately as private, unverified club references, without player identities or match records; they are not automatically published as verified club listings.
5. Cookies
Pickle+ uses only essential cookies required for authentication, security (anti-forgery token), and access to a private guest DUPR report. The guest-report cookie contains a random access key, not credentials or match data. We also set a first-party visitor cookie containing a random identifier (no personal data) for up to 90 days. It lets us count how many people complete each step of the guest DUPR import and sign-up, so we can fix problems in that process; it is not shared with anyone and is not used for advertising. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and regular security reviews to protect your data. No system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password for your account.
7. Children's Privacy
Pickle+ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Pickle+ after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
